The Peer Helpers will again be sponsoring Red Ribbon Week.
From October 25-29, students and staff are encouraged to participate in various Red Ribbon Week activities and theme days. These events are designed to increase awareness and to educate students of the dangers and temptations of alcohol and drug use along with developing life-long strategies to overcome these hurdles.
Theme Days:
- Monday: "Reach for the stars, not drugs!" -Pajama Day.
- Tuesday: "Team up against drugs." -Team Day
- Wednesday: "Say peace out to drugs." -Tie Dye Day
- Thursday: "Double up against drugs." -Hat/I-pod Day*
- Pay $1 to listen to your I-pod (during encore & enrichment) AND wear a hat.
- Pay $1 to listen to your I-pod (during encore & enrichment) AND wear a hat.
- Friday: "Red Day"
Picture Re-takes will be Tuesday, November 2. Original proofs must be returned to the photographer on the day of the re-take. Students that have not had their composite taken yet should do so on this date.
Sports Pictures for Boys Basketball and Cheerleading will also be taken on November 2.
Students will be dismissed at 10:50 a.m. on November 3. Conferences will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on November 3 and 12:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on November 4. No conferences will be held on Friday, November 5 as this is an in-service for teachers
Please call the NMS office on October 19 from 9-2 and October 20 from 9-2 to set up your appointment time for Parent Teacher Conference in November. Please make sure you have a list of the teachers you want to see.

Butter Braids will be sent home with students on Thursday, Sept. 9. These pastries are frozen and should be immediately placed in a freezer. Student with a large quantity of Butter Braids will be able to arrange to have their parents pick the order up at NMS.
